Charlotte Blues Society involved in the Blues throughout Charlotte
OK, we admit it: we love the blues. No matter where we find them.
Our new home for Charlotte Blues Society is The Rabbit Hole, 1801 Commonwealth Avenue in Charlotte's eclectic Plaza-Midwood area. This section of town is known for its interesting restaurants, breweries, hangouts, bars, shops and music.
Our Sunday Blues Bash is held 1st Sunday every month, with a few exceptions, as this year, when Superbowl Sunday lands on February 4th. Our February Sunday Blues Bash "touchdowns" on Sunday February 11th and will be worth the extra week wait when we proudly welcome the Heather Gillis band. At 22, Heather has traveled the world playing guitar, and has been an intregal member of Butch Trucks' Freight Train & Col. Hampton's Aquarium Rescue Unit. Joe Bonamassa has pointed Heather out as Blues artist to watch, and Blues Guitarist. Don't miss her!
In addition, you will find us at every major and up and coming blues artist events, plus supporting local and regional artists. New spots are cropping up to fill the blues lovers' souls like Ella's Speakeasy, 204 North, and more, to support local and regional artists plus established venues like Neighborhood Theatre, McGlohon Theater, Knight Theater, The Evening Muse continue to bring national artists into town.
There is a lot to keep up with, but we'll do our best. Check out the drop down menu here to get quick info, or go to our Music Calendar for a complete list.
Other events in the Charlotte area including Taste of Charlotte, Blues in The Schools, School of Rock , Rock University are just a few more of the projects we love to support.
